Getting pictures listed

SalsaFrenzy provides links to public photo albums and does not host the pictures itself. We list links in chronological order to albums that meet the following criteria:

  1. Are pictures of a Salsa event in Boston or attended by Boston dancers.

  2. The pictures are of good quality (resolution, focus, etc.).

  3. The picture album is easy to browse (e.g. it has a "slide show" feature).

Most of the links we currently have are to photo albums from the AprilOn2.com gallery (the only local site we've come across that meets the above criteria). We would like to see coverage of all local venues (El Bembe, El Caney, Choices, Ryles, Punto Finale, Sophia's, Vincent's, etc.), and encourage photographers to document the Boston Salsa scene. If you have or know of a photo album that meets the above criteria, please email us a link to it.

Getting shines listed

SalsaFrenzy's "Shines Project" is a member contributed database of Salsa shines (footwork) popular in Boston. The purpose of this effort is to help each other remember shines we've learned as well as direct people to the local instructors to learn these and other shines. The format of the page is to list 1) the name of the shine, 2) its level (1=beginners, 2= advanced beginner, 3=advanced/intermediate), 3) the timing it's danced on, 4) the names of local dancers who know it and are willing to show it (but not teach it), and 5) the names of local instructors who teach it.

We solicit everyone's participation in growing this list and making it a useful resource for all. To contribute a shine that you are willing to show (but not teach) to fellow dancers, Just add it to the Shines Project database on the SalsaFrenzy Yahoo!Group (you need to be a member of the group).

List your shine by name (e.g. Suzy Q), the level (1=beginners, 2= advanced beginner, 3=advanced/intermediate), the timing it's danced on (On1, On2(123), On2(234), etc), your name (as a person willing to refresh others on it), and the Boston area teacher you've learned it from. For example:
   Name: Suzy Q
   Level: 1
   Timing: On1
Who Can Show It: Greg Smith
   Teacher: Johnny
